About the Role
Reporting to the Project Director, The Head of Operations will lead a team of approximately 80 employees across multiple operational portfolios, driving service excellence, customer outcomes, financial performance and operational effectiveness across the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) contract.
This is a high-impact senior leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing facilities management services delivered across more than 3,500 government-owned sites supporting Health, Education, Justice, Police and Other Public agencies, as well as Government Employee Housing and APY Lands.

Key Responsibilities

Lead operational delivery across the AGFMA contract, ensuring service excellence, compliance and customer satisfaction.

Manage and develop a team of approximately 80 employees, including five Operational Managers and one Contract Manager.

Build and maintain strong relationships with South Australian Government agencies, clients and key stakeholders.

Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, utilisation and cost management.

Oversee operational governance, risk management and HSEQ compliance across all service delivery areas.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, performance and customer outcomes.

Support business growth opportunities and strengthen Ventia's position as a trusted facilities management partner.

Ensure accurate reporting, data integrity and informed decision-making across the contract.

Lead workforce planning, capability development and succession initiatives to build a high-performing team.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.
About You
You are an experienced senior leader with a track record of delivering operational excellence, building high-performing teams and developing strong client partnerships within complex service delivery environments.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Leadership experience within facilities management, infrastructure, property, construction or a comparable service delivery environment.

Strong commercial and financial management capability.

Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.

Experience leading large, multidisciplinary operational teams.

Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in management, engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline (preferred).
