You can be part of the team that enables significant service improvements for our people.
Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.
In this role, you'll:
Transform complex Operational Technology systems into working, real‑world solutions that function seamlessly together. You’ll support the planning, design and delivery of OT integration across public transport projects, including rail control systems, communications, passenger information, safety systems and supporting digital infrastructure. You’ll develop and review integration specifications, interface control documents and technical designs that guide how systems connect and perform. You’ll be hands‑on with integration testing, including FAT, SAT, end‑to‑end testing and commissioning, helping projects transition safely into operations. You’ll provide technical guidance and assurance to project teams and suppliers, ensuring solutions meet Transport for NSW standards, safety requirements and performance expectations. Along the way, you’ll monitor risks, issues and dependencies, working closely with operational, engineering, safety and IT teams to make sure systems are safe, reliable and ready for service.
Role description and Information Pack.
About you
You’re someone who enjoys understanding how complex systems fit together and takes satisfaction in solving integration challenges in live, operational environments. You bring extensive experience integrating systems across OT and IT environments, including industrial control systems, and you’ve worked in large‑scale transport, rail or infrastructure settings where safety and reliability are critical. You have a strong understanding of operational technology, control systems and communications networks, and you appreciate the real‑world challenges of integrating mission‑critical technology. You’re comfortable working through testing, commissioning and assurance activities, and navigating technical designs and interface control documentation. You know your way around established engineering frameworks and standards, whether that’s systems engineering, IEC or ISO standards, cybersecurity or rail safety practices. You communicate clearly, collaborate well with a broad range of stakeholders and aren’t afraid to ask questions or challenge assumptions, and you bring a tertiary qualification in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or Systems Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience that clearly demonstrates your capability.
