About the role
The Business Support Officer provides executive and administrative support to the Executive Director, New Communities, and helps coordinate business support activities across the branch. Key responsibilities include managing calendars and emails, organising meetings and events, preparing agendas and briefing materials, coordinating travel, handling correspondence, and tracking actions to ensure work is delivered on time.
The role also supports reporting, recruitment, governance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working in a job-share arrangement, the Business Support Officer collaborates closely with another incumbent to provide seamless support, requiring strong communication, confidentiality, teamwork, and a commitment to Victorian Public Service values.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:

Experience providing executive support in a government or similar environment, including supporting governance processes, preparing agendas and minutes, and managing stakeholder correspondence.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and confidently use Microsoft Office programs.

A collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative, contributes to a positive team culture, and supports the achievement of shared goals.
