What you'll be doing
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of education programs that strengthen clinical capability, support best practice and improve patient outcomes within the acute mental health setting. Working closely with nursing leadership and key stakeholders, you will champion learning, professional development and continuous improvement across the service.
Design, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs aligned with legislative, Ministry of Health and organisational requirements
Mentor, coach and assess nursing staff to achieve and maintain role-specific competencies
Facilitate bedside teaching and support the translation of evidence into clinical practice
Collaborate with managers, educators and clinical experts to identify and meet workforce learning needs
Drive quality improvement, innovation and professional development initiatives that enhance care delivery and patient outcomes

Essential Requirements:
Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and/or post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/ education.
Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.
Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
