About the Role
The Transport Assets & Operations Branch plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the Sunshine Coast’s extensive road and civil infrastructure network. Supporting pavements, drainage, bridges, pathways and roadside assets, the Branch is focused on delivering safe, reliable and sustainable infrastructure services for the community.
With varied work locations across the region and opportunities within operational teams including Rapid Response, Roadside Assist and Footpaths, you'll enjoy diverse and rewarding work that contributes directly to the liveability of the Sunshine Coast.
As a Civil Field Worker, you will play a hands-on role in delivering civil maintenance and construction activities that keep the region moving. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in delivering results, and wants to make a visible difference to local communities.
- Undertake civil construction and maintenance activities including concreting, kerb and channel works, stormwater drainage and road maintenance.
- Assist with the upkeep and repair of roadside assets, bridges, pathways, foreshores and reserves.
- Operate and maintain plant, machinery and equipment in accordance with safety and operational requirements.
- Complete daily reporting and documentation while maintaining compliance with workplace health, safety and environmental standards.
About you
You are a collaborative team member who enjoys working alongside others to deliver high-quality outcomes and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
You bring experience in civil maintenance, construction or labouring environments and enjoy working outdoors on a variety of projects and asset types.
You can follow work programs, solve problems on the go and consistently deliver tasks safely and efficiently within required timeframes.
You value safety, take pride in maintaining high standards, and are comfortable using tools, equipment and technology to support daily operations.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
