About the Position
Ceramic Artisans is currently looking for an experienced Senior Ceramist to join our growing team on a full time basis.
This role is suited to a highly skilled ceramist who is passionate about delivering exceptional aesthetic outcomes and takes pride in producing high-quality dental restorations. Your core focus will be working closely with our technicians, dentists, and clinical partners to ensure a seamless workflow, exceptional case outcomes, and continued excellence across our laboratory processes.
You will play an important role in supporting the technical standards of the laboratory and contributing your expertise to complex and aesthetic cases.
We are a boutique, full-service dental laboratory based in Chatswood. We are digitally focused and utilise the latest milling, printing, and scanning technologies to deliver precision-driven solutions for our clients.
As part of our team, you will have access to the latest advancements in digital dentistry, including scanning, CAD/CAM design, 3D printing, and milling technologies. You will also have opportunities to participate in ongoing training and collaborate with experienced technicians to continue developing your skills.
We are conveniently located with easy access to public transport, close to St Leonards train station, local bus routes, and the new Metro train station in Chatswood.
Responsibilities

Produce high-end aesthetic ceramic restorations, including crowns, veneers, implant restorations, and complex cases

Advanced layering of ceramic materials across various substrates including Emax, Zirconia, PFM, veneers, and implant restorations

Finishing, staining, glazing, and characterisation of monolithic and layered restorations

Manage complex cases from design through to final finishing, ensuring exceptional aesthetic and functional outcomes

Review and maintain quality control standards across laboratory production

Collaborate with dentists and clinical teams regarding treatment planning, case design, and technical requirements

Provide guidance and support to junior technicians, sharing knowledge and helping develop technical skills

Contribute to improving laboratory workflows, processes, and overall quality standards

What do you need to succeed?
- Extensive experience as a dental ceramist with a strong portfolio of aesthetic work

Advanced knowledge and experience with ceramic layering techniques and aesthetic principles

Ability to work across a range of dental substrates, including Emax, Zirconia, PFM, veneers, and implant restorations

A strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, colour, texture, and natural aesthetics

Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing consistently high-quality work

Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment

Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with dentists and team members

A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and maintaining excellence within digital dentistry
