At Macarthur Automotive, we know that exceptional customer experiences start in the workshop. We're looking for an experienced Service Foreman to lead our technicians, mentor the next generation of automotive professionals, and ensure every vehicle leaves our workshop repaired right the first time.
As a Service Foreman, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the workshop, supporting Technicians and Apprentices, and ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and right the first time. Working closely with the Service Manager, Service Advisors and Workshop team, you'll play a key role in driving productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical expertise and people management skills will make a real impact.
- Lead and coordinate the daily workflow of Technicians and Apprentices to maximise workshop productivity and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to support the ongoing development of the workshop team.
- Monitor repair quality, minimise repeat repairs, and ensure vehicles are repaired right the first time.
- Work closely with Service Advisors to prioritise repairs, communicate workshop progress, and recommend additional repair work where required.
- Ensure repair orders, warranty claims and manufacturer documentation are completed accurately and in line with OEM standards.
- Maintain a safe, organised and compliant workshop while driving continuous improvement across quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
You're a respected workshop leader who leads by example and enjoys helping others succeed.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Proven experience as a Service Foreman, Workshop Controller or Senior Automotive Technician.
- A recognised Motor Vehicle Trade Qualification.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and develop Technicians and Apprentices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workflow in a busy workshop.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
- Sound computer skills and experience maintaining accurate workshop documentation.
