We are a well-established, community-focused independent supermarket looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hands-on Assistant Store Manager (2IC) to join our leadership team.

About the Role
As the Assistant Store Manager (2IC), you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the supermarket. You'll help lead a team across all departments, maintain excellent store standards, and create a positive shopping experience for every customer.
When the Store Manager is away, you'll confidently take responsibility for the overall operation of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the supermarket.
- Lead, motivate, and support team members to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, presentation, cleanliness, and stock availability.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, inventory management, and stock loss prevention.
- Support staff recruitment, training, coaching, and performance development.
- Assist with staff rostering and workforce planning.
- Monitor sales, labour costs, and store performance to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and company policies.
- Resolve customer enquiries and issues professionally and efficiently.
- Open and close the store and provide leadership across all areas of the business.
