About the Division
The Business Services Division leads the provision of quality Academy corporate support services and functions (including procurement, risk management, performance reporting and evaluation, human resources and culture, finance, facilities management, information and audio-visual technology) which enable successful operation of the Academy. In addition, the Business Services Division is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance and audit obligations required of a statutory authority.
The Learning Spaces and Technology (LS&T) unit supports and maintains the enterprise architecture and infrastructure that connects our physical environments with cutting-edge learning technologies. The LS&T team provide a seamless customer-focused participant and guest experience, ensuring each Academy site is equipped with sophisticated IT and AV systems that enable Academy staff to deliver high quality multi-modal learning and events across the state.
To ensure high-quality support, the LS&T operate a triaged service model in partnership with the Department of Education's Information Management and Technology Division, providing expert technical assistance and seamless project delivery when needed. Simultaneously, LS&T leads the Academy's statewide facility operations and asset management, maintaining strict alignment with the Victorian Government Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) with a consistent focus on delivering high utilisation, operational efficiency and maintaining robust standards for safety and security.
About the Role
The Technology Officer will provide advanced IT and AV support and contribute to the continuous improvement of technology systems across the Academy. This role will enable effective delivery of learning and events through reliable and innovative technology solutions.
The responsibilities of the Technology Officer include:
- providing timely and practical advice and issues resolution to staff and stakeholders on IT and AV matters to support the Academy's operations, delivery of programs, initiatives and other activities.
- maintaining and supporting improvement of Academy owned IT and AV infrastructure, systems, tools and platforms
- working with Department of Education IT and AV staff and contractors to ensure compliant and consistent implementation and practices of Department owned IT and AV infrastructure, systems, tools and platforms
- supporting the planning, procurement, implementation, risk management and cost monitoring of technology projects
- building effective working relationships to support staff to strengthen their capabilities and consistent practices in the use of the Academy and Department IT and AV.
Capabilities
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise applications (incl. Windows, Office 365, Webex, MS Teams, Sharepoint and Salesforce)
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework, Cisco networking, Active Directory, Power Automate and cloud technologies
- Ability to analyse and resolve hardware and software related IT and AV technical issues
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills and responsive customer service delivery
- Ability to manage tasks across multiple priorities, projects, activities and stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capability
- Understanding of technology project management
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualifications in Information Technology or Audio-Visual
- Understanding of Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) and Victorian Government Procurement policies.
