The Opportunity
Join Monash University as Senior Manager, Channel Communications and play a defining role in shaping how we connect with our audiences across the student lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to lead the strategic direction, roadmap and performance of key enterprise marketing channels, including email, social media and paid advertising, as core engagement, lead generation and conversion capabilities. You will help transform these channels into a more connected, audience-led and personalised ecosystem that supports prospective students from first enquiry through to application, enrolment and ongoing engagement.
Working within the Channel Experience and Program Change directorate, you will partner with senior leaders, marketing teams, technology, data, analytics, IT and faculty stakeholders to improve how Monash plans, delivers, measures and optimises channel communications at scale. You will bring together strategy, data, platforms, governance and performance insight to deliver more effective and coordinated audience experiences.
You will also lead and develop a specialist team, uplift channel capability across Marketing, and embed best-practice approaches to testing, optimisation, automation, personalisation and performance measurement. With access to enterprise platforms and a strong focus on digital capability, this role offers significant scope to influence strategy, improve outcomes and shape the future of channel communications at Monash.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction, roadmap and continuous optimisation of Monash’s email marketing, social media and paid advertising ecosystem, ensuring alignment with marketing, recruitment, brand, omni-channel engagement and personalisation strategies
Design and deliver scalable, audience-led channel communication strategies that support lead generation, nurture, student admissions, lifecycle communications, engagement and conversion outcomes
Drive integration between email, advertising, social media and other digital channels to improve audience targeting, journey orchestration, messaging consistency and measurable performance
Establish channel performance frameworks, attribution approaches, testing methodologies and optimisation practices to improve effectiveness across campaigns, journeys and initiatives
Oversee the use, integration and governance of relevant marketing platforms and tools, including marketing automation, CRM, CDP, CMS, DAM, personalisation and campaign platforms, ensuring secure, compliant and high-quality operation
Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on channel performance, emerging trends, innovation opportunities, risks and investment priorities, balancing ambition with operational sustainability
Lead, mentor and develop specialist staff, while building organisational capability through coaching, communities of practice, training and cross-functional collaboration
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated senior-level experience leading marketing channel functions within a complex, large-scale organisation
Proven expertise in marketing automation, platform integration, governance and enterprise MarTech ecosystems, including platforms such as CRM, CDP, CMS, DAM, personalisation and campaign tools
Strong experience developing and executing channel strategies, omni-channel roadmaps and operating models aligned to strategic marketing, recruitment, engagement and conversion objectives
Demonstrated ability to design, optimise and measure audience-led lifecycle communications, behavioural journeys, segmentation and personalisation approaches at scale
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice to senior leaders and build alignment across marketing, technology, data, IT and faculty stakeholders
Proven leadership capability, including leading specialist teams, managing vendors and partners, and balancing innovation, privacy, consent, accessibility, data governance, risk and operational sustainability
