Join Bega Garnbirringu Health Service’s Social Support Unit and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing chronic rough sleeping. Provide assertive outreach, triage and practical support to help clients access safe accommodation, housing and ongoing health and wellbeing services.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A qualification in Community Services, or relevant experience supporting vulnerable people experiencing homelessness
- Strong knowledge and understanding of homelessness and associated challenges
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of cultural factors and social determinants affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage competing priorities
- Ability to work outside normal business hours
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are desirable
Successful applicants will be required to hold/provide:
- Current Working with Children Check (WA)
- National Criminal History Check (Police Clearance) – valid within the last 3 months
- Current WA “C” Class Driver's Licence – Manual
