As our restaurant continues to grow and enhance its hospitality offerings, we are seeking skilled and experienced Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
The Role
We are hiring a dedicated Cook to join us.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure they meet quality, freshness, and food safety standards before preparation and cooking.
- Prepare, season, cook, and present a wide variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, menu specifications, and quality standards.
- Regulate and monitor the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to ensure food is cooked safely and consistently.
- Portion food accurately, arrange meals attractively on plates, and add appropriate gravies, sauces, and garnishes before service.
- Ensure all food is stored correctly in temperature-controlled storage facilities and handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, meats, spices, sauces, and other items, ensuring adequate stock is available for daily kitchen operations.
- Assist in planning menus, estimating daily food production requirements, and ensuring sufficient ingredients and supplies are available.
- Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements and accommodate customer requests, including allergy and nutritional considerations.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef and kitchen team to organise daily food preparation and coordinate kitchen operations efficiently.
- Supervise, train, and provide guidance to apprentices, and junior kitchen staff to maintain high culinary and workplace standards.
- Assess the quality of both raw and cooked food products throughout the preparation and cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence. .
- Perform other kitchen and operational duties as directed by management to support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
