We’re currently looking for a Casual Chef de Partie to support the kitchen team across busy lunch, dinner and weekend services. This role is perfect for a chef who enjoys fast-paced service, takes pride in consistency and works well as part of a strong brigade.
Located in one of the Gold Coast’s growing hospitality precincts, Hope Island Tavern delivers high-volume trade with a menu focused on quality pub classics, crowd favourites and seasonal specials.
About the role:
Casual role with consistent hours available (35+ hours per week)
Work across prep, service and section management
Assist with food preparation and daily kitchen operations
Maintain food quality and presentation standards during busy trade periods
Support kitchen operations and assist junior staff where required
Contribute to a clean, organised and safety-focused kitchen environment
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready to step up
Knowledge and experience working across grill and basic sauce preparation
Ability to work on a rotating roster including nights and weekends
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
Own transport is essential, as public transport options are limited after 6pm
