Join Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) as a Visiting Medical Officer – Ophthalmologist, providing specialist clinical leadership and high quality, patient centered ophthalmic care at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
This role offers an opportunity to deliver expert ophthalmic services within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to improved eye health outcomes for communities across the district.
The VMO Ophthalmologist will provide senior clinical leadership and specialist ophthalmic services within the Department of Ophthalmology at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. The role includes:
Equitable contribution. All ophthalmologists are expected to undertake a proportionate and equitable share of public hospital operating lists, registrar clinics, and associated supervision responsibilities.

Following orientation, VMOs are expected to supervise other doctors and medical students (excluding conditionally registered oversea trained doctors).
