The Technical Specialist is responsible for the operational delivery, support, and continuous improvement of Managed Network Services for Optus Enterprise customers, ensuring network stability, performance, and compliance with ITIL service management practices and SLAs. The role provides expert technical leadership in Aruba-based networking environments, including SD-WAN, switching, wireless, and ClearPass technologies, leading incident resolution, problem management, network changes, and customer engagement while collaborating closely with internal teams and enterprise clients.
What You'll Do
Deliver exceptional customer support and service outcomes by managing Aruba SD-WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi environment, resolving incidents within SLA, and maintaining clear, proactive communication with customers and stakeholders.
Own and prioritise critical incidents and customer issues, ensuring major network faults, sensitive customer events, and escalations are managed effectively, with accurate updates maintained in ServiceNow.
Ensure compliance and operational governance by maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to internal standards, and following ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and transition management processes.
Execute and support operational activities, including deployments, site onboarding, edge device configuration, orchestrator integration, firmware upgrades, policy updates, routing changes, and complex MACs.
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence through root cause analysis, automation of routine tasks, process enhancements, and optimisation of managed network and hosting solutions.
Maintain technical expertise and knowledge leadership by keeping documentation current, contributing to knowledge bases, sustaining industry certifications, building strategic partnerships, and staying current with emerging networking technologies.
What You Bring
Advanced Aruba SD-WAN expertise, including troubleshooting overlay/underlay networks, routing, tunnel connectivity, QoS, Business Intent Overlays, firewall policies, and managing changes, upgrades, and recovery activities through Aruba Orchestrator.
Strong Aruba networking capabilities, with hands-on experience supporting and configuring Aruba switching, routing, Central On-Premises, VLANs, Layer 2/3 networks, redundancy, performance monitoring, and software lifecycle management.
Specialist Aruba wireless knowledge, including Mobility Controller/Conductor and ClearPass, with expertise in WLAN services, authentication, NAC, roaming, security, client onboarding, performance optimisation, and wireless troubleshooting.
Broad technical and operational experience, including scripting and automation (Python/Ansible), managed services support, escalation management, advanced problem solving, network security, encryption, and large-scale enterprise solution delivery.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, mentor others, manage stakeholder relationships, perform under pressure, think creatively, and maintain a customer-focused approach.
Relevant qualifications and industry certifications, including an Engineering/ICT Degree or Advanced Diploma, Aruba Certified Professional – Switching (ACP-S), Aruba Certified SD-WAN Deployment Professional (ACSDP), and Aruba Certified Mobility Associate/Professional (ACMA/ACMP).
