About the Role:
We’re looking for a Junior Operations Engineer to join our Blacktown manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across manufacturing, continuous improvement, project coordination, and product development. Working closely with production, maintenance, and product development teams, you’ll help improve processes, support operational projects, and contribute to the successful delivery of new products and manufacturing initiatives.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Support engineering projects and operational activities across the manufacturing environment
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and waste reduction activities
- Participate in ISO9001 and BEST audits and support the implementation of improvement actions
- Work with Product Development teams to improve design for manufacture and support new product introductions
- Assist with prototype builds, pre-production runs, and product launch activities
- Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and risk assessments
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance, procurement, warehouse, and distribution teams
- Support machinery, process improvement, and equipment commissioning projects
- Assist with health, safety, and environmental initiatives, including risk assessments and compliance activities
Skills and Experiences:
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Some exposure to manufacturing, industrial operations, or engineering projects
- Interest in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies
- Exposure to, or willingness to learn, ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret data and support evidence-based decision making
- A proactive, curious, and team-focused approach to learning and continuous improvement
