MUFG Corporate Markets is seeking an accomplished governance professional to lead our Listed Practice in Australia.
This is a rare opportunity to own a portfolio of listed clients as their trusted senior company secretary, while stepping into a senior leadership role that shapes the future of the business and our people.
As a member of the Corporate Governance Leadership Team, you will act as a trusted adviser to listed company boards and executives, lead a high-performing team of company secretarial and governance professionals, and help drive the direction and growth of the Listed Practice.

About the Role
At its core, this role is about managing your own portfolio of listed clients and acting as their senior company secretary, supported by a talented team you will lead and develop.
You will provide expert advice on ASX Listing Rules, continuous disclosure obligations, governance frameworks and regulatory compliance, making sure clients receive commercially pragmatic guidance and an exceptional experience.
Beyond client delivery, you will take on a genuine senior leadership remit — shaping workforce planning, mentoring and growing your team, managing workflow, and driving the business development that grows the Listed Practice.
There is also scope to help shape and expand our Directorships practice as it continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Practice Management
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of experienced company secretarial professionals
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative and client-focused culture
- Oversee resource planning, workflow management and team capability development
- Drive operational excellence, process improvement and service innovation
- Manage practice financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting and utilisation
Listed Company Secretarial Services
- Act as senior company secretary for a portfolio of listed clients
- Advise boards and executive teams on ASX Listing Rules, governance obligations and regulatory developments
- Support board and committee meetings, including agenda preparation, attendance and minute taking
- Manage continuous disclosure obligations and ASX announcements
- Support annual general meetings and shareholder engagement activities
- Provide practical, commercially focused governance advice on complex matters
Business Development & Growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with listed companies, law firms and corporate advisers
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the Listed Practice
- Support business development initiatives and client acquisition activities
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the firm's governance and directorship service offerings
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive experience advising listed entities and a strong understanding of Australia's corporate governance and regulatory landscape.
You may currently be:
- A senior company secretary within a listed organisation
- An in-house lawyer with significant listed corporate governance experience
- A corporate lawyer with deep expertise in ASX Listing Rules and listed company compliance
Most importantly, you will have the credibility, judgement and leadership capability to lead experienced professionals while remaining hands-on in client delivery.
You will bring:
- Extensive knowledge of ASX Listing Rules, the Corporations Act and corporate governance best practice
- Strong experience supporting listed company boards and managing continuous disclosure obligations
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage confidently with directors and executives
- Commercial acumen and an understanding of practice management and business growth
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and sound professional judgement
- Relevant qualifications in law, commerce or a related discipline
- Membership of the Governance Institute of Australia (or equivalent) will be highly regarded
