The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to take full operational ownership of our air and road freight operation. This is a senior, hands-on role — second-in-charge to the General Manager — with direct accountability for freight throughput, carrier performance, cost control and compliance. You will lead a team of three, plus our driver and owner-driver network.
What you'll do
- Plan, direct and coordinate the supply, storage and distribution of freight across the operation.
- Oversee dock, sort and inventory systems and the recording and tracking of all freight movements.
- Manage carrier and sub-contractor arrangements for cost, quality and delivery performance.
- Control operating cost and protect contract profitability against budget and KPIs.
- Lead and develop a team of three, plus drivers and the owner-driver network.
- Maintain WHS, Chain of Responsibility and dangerous goods compliance across the operation.
- Drive continuous improvement and support systems and KPI reporting.
- Deputise for the General Manager as required.
What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience managing a supply, distribution or logistics operation and leading teams.
- Strong distribution planning, freight handling and inventory-control skills.
- Experience managing carriers or suppliers and controlling cost against budget.
- Knowledge of WHS, Chain of Responsibility and dangerous goods (IATA DGR / ADG) — advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain or business, or equivalent senior experience.
- A current driver's licence.
