We’re looking for an energetic, reliable and people-focused Group Fitness Trainer / Coach to join our team on a casual or part-time basis.
This role is ideal for someone who loves coaching, enjoys working with people of different fitness levels, and can create a positive, welcoming and motivating environment.
You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging group exercise sessions, helping participants exercise safely and effectively, and ensuring everyone feels supported and included.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver fun, engaging and well-structured group fitness classes
- Demonstrate exercises and provide clear coaching cues
- Modify and progress exercises for different fitness levels and abilities
- Monitor exercise technique and encourage safe movement
- Motivate participants and create a positive group environment
- Build rapport with participants and make people feel welcome
- Set up and pack away equipment
- Assist with general gym/studio duties when required
- Work collaboratively with the wider team

Qualifications
Applicants should hold, or be currently completing, one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology / Exercise Physiology, including Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) or students currently studying towards AEP accreditation
- Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science
- Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30321) – qualified Gym Instructor / Group Exercise Instructor
- Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40221) – qualified Personal Trainer
- An equivalent recognised qualification in exercise, sport or fitness
Applicants should also have:
- Current First Aid certification
- Current CPR certification
- Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card, where required
University students studying Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or Sport and Exercise Science are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those looking to gain practical experience coaching group exercise.
Previous group fitness, personal training, sports coaching or exercise delivery experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
