Female Community Support Worker – Cannington Area | Must Drive and Be Confident Using Own Vehicle for Participant Support
Open Sky Disability Services is seeking an experienced female Disability Support Worker to support a participant in the Cannington area.
Shift Days and Time:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This role is suitable for a confident and reliable support worker who has experience supporting participants with complex behaviours, emotional support needs, community engagement, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support to the participant in the community.
- Support the participant to engage in community activities, outings, appointments, and social participation.
- Drive the participant safely to community activities and appointments using your own registered and insured vehicle.
- Support the participant with emotional regulation, reassurance, and positive engagement.
- Manage behaviours of concern professionally and calmly.
- Communicate clearly with families, coordinators, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Follow behaviour support strategies, care plans, and workplace procedures.
- Complete progress notes and report any concerns in a timely manner.
Essential Requirements:
- Female support worker required due to participant preference and support needs.
- Previous disability support experience is required.
- Experience with behaviours of concern and emotional support.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Manual handling certificate
- Reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Confident driving and assisting participant in your own vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- National Police Clearance.
- First Aid and CPR.
- Strong communication and professional reporting skills.
- Reliable, punctual, patient, and confident working independently.
Preferred:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, Mental Health, or similar.
- Experience working with NDIS participants.
- Behaviour support or mental health support experience.
Pay: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour
