About the Opportunity
ASC is seeking a highly capable Risk Management Specialist to play a pivotal role in strengthening and continuously improving our Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure risk management remains a value-adding, business-enabling discipline that supports sound decision-making and the achievement of ASC’s strategic objectives. You will lead risk management initiatives, facilitate risk workshops, coordinate reporting, and provide expert guidance on risk practices aligned with industry best practice.
Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, you will work closely with teams across Risk, Compliance, Sustainability, Business Continuity, Insurance, Internal Audit and other assurance functions to build organisational capability and drive a proactive risk culture. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk professional who enjoys influencing stakeholders, delivering practical risk solutions, and contributing to the success of critical national defence programs.

Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance, review and continuous improvement of ASC’s Risk Management Policy, Framework, and associated risk management tools and processes.
- Partner with business leaders to facilitate risk assessments, workshops and reviews, ensuring effective identification, evaluation and treatment of risks.
- Coordinate and deliver enterprise risk reporting, including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), risk appetite monitoring, and Board and Executive reporting.
- Support the development and implementation of integrated reporting solutions across risk, compliance, audit, incidents and strategic performance measures.
- Build risk management capability across the organisation through coaching, mentoring, training and engagement within the Risk Community of Practice.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Sustainability, Business Continuity, Insurance and assurance functions to strengthen risk controls and assurance activities.
- Lead the system administration of ASC’s enterprise risk management system and the coordination of enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant Risk Management certification.
- Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Risk Management, with strong knowledge of risk frameworks, governance and ISO 31000 principles.
- Proven ability to facilitate risk workshops, influence stakeholders and embed effective risk management practices across diverse business functions.
- Experience in compliance, business continuity, assurance or related governance disciplines within a complex organisational environment.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex information into practical outcomes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
