At the heart of our work is genuine care for every resident we support. We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organised Residential Care Officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide daily care, supervision, and structured support programs that promote independence and enhance residents’ quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide compassionate day-to-day care, supervision, and support to residents within adult service units and group housing settings.
· Interview residents, assess the nature and extent of their needs, and develop individualised support programs.
· Plan and deliver educational, recreational, training, and life-skills programs that promote independence and well-being.
· Monitor residents’ behavioural, social, and emotional progress, and maintain accurate records and progress reports.
· Work closely with residents’ families by providing guidance, education, and support regarding their loved one’s care.
· Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, and government bodies to coordinate access to health, housing, and training services.
· Identify when specialised intervention is needed and refer residents to external services for medical, psychological, or financial support.
· Assist with submissions for resource allocation, facility funding, and official reporting requirements.
Requirements
· At least one year of relevant experience providing direct care in a community health or residential care setting.
· A Diploma or higher qualification relevant to health care or community services.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and basic counselling skills, with the ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals and their families.
· Current or able to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and First Aid and CPR certification
Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
