The English & Literature Tutor is responsible for delivering high-quality academic instruction to Year 11 and 12 students, with a focus on developing advanced analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills required for top ATAR performance.
The role involves teaching structured lessons in small group settings, guiding students through prescribed texts, and helping them build strong essay-writing techniques. Tutors are expected to simplify complex literary concepts, model high-level responses, and provide clear, actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.
In addition to teaching, the tutor will track student progress, identify areas of weakness, and tailor explanations to suit different learning styles. Maintaining an engaging, disciplined, and supportive classroom environment is essential to ensure students remain motivated and achieve their academic goals.
The tutor will also be responsible for reinforcing exam strategies, including time management, question interpretation, and structured responses aligned with marking criteria. Familiarity with the WA curriculum and assessment standards is important to ensure lessons are relevant and outcome-focused.
