Due to ongoing business growth and increasing financial reporting requirements, Amtek Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.
Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Australian accounting and taxation requirements. This role is critical in supporting the financial operations of construction and infrastructure projects and requires a strong understanding of project-based accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including reconciliations
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), PAYG withholding, and other statutory obligations
- Monitor cash flow and provide financial insights to support operational decision-making
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for infrastructure and construction projects
- Track and allocate project costs, ensuring accurate job costing and reporting
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, financial regulations, and internal controls
- Support continuous improvement of accounting systems and financial processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated at least 3 years experience in an Accountant role
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, BAS, and compliance requirements
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in construction or infrastructure-related industries is highly regarded

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
