The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking a passionate and experienced Rural Counsellor to support individuals, families and communities experiencing a range of mental health, psychosocial and wellbeing challenges across rural and regional areas.
As a Rural Counsellor, you will provide evidence based counselling and therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing mental health, social, emotional and behavioural concerns, conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualised care plans, support clients through crisis intervention, case management and referral pathways, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including health professionals, community organisations and government agencies, participate in outreach services and support clients across rural and regional communities as required and maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement activities.
