Want to start a rewarding career working with children, without any previous experience?
At Little Treasures Marulan, we believe that skills can be taught, but a great attitude can’t! We can teach you absolutely everything you need to know about early childhood education. What we are really looking for is someone who is naturally proactive and hands-on; the kind of person who sees a mess and tidies it, happily leads a group of children in a game of Simon Says or a music routine, and jumps in and looks for ways to use their initiative wherever needed.
We are a small, warm, family-owned centre (just 29 places) located an easy, traffic-free 20-minute drive from Goulburn and surrounding areas.
About the Role:
As a Trainee, you will be fully supported and mentored by our experienced team as you learn the ropes. Your day-to-day focus will be on:
- Supporting children's learning: Helping set up fun, educational activities and joining in with the children's play and routines.
- Nurturing wellbeing: Ensuring the children are happy, safe, and cared for emotionally and physically every day.
- Teamwork: Working collaboratively with our educators to keep the rooms organised, clean, and running smoothly.
- Professional growth: Learning how to capture observations of children's learning and progress to share with their families.
Why you’ll love it here:
- Earn while you learn: You will get paid a reliable above award hourly wage while studying for your Certificate III and three hours paid study time off the floor each week.
- 100% Free Course: The government covers your full training fees—it costs you absolutely nothing.
- Free Uniforms: We provide your shirts at no cost.
- A supportive team: Because we are small, you will never feel lost in the crowd. We look after each other!
- Convenient location: Hassle-free parking right out the front of the centre.
What we need from you:
- You are a proactive person who uses your initiative—you like to stay busy, ask questions, naturally notice what needs to be done next, and jump straight into daily activities and play with the children
- You are reliable, always on time, and have a positive attitude.
- You are happy to put in the study time to finish your qualification modules.
- You are 18 years or older and eligible to work in Australia
Mandatory Compliance & Safety Screening:
To ensure our children remain completely safe and to meet all current NSW regulations and Child Safe Standards, you will need to provide or successfully complete:
- A valid, paid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) verified prior to commencement.
- A current National Police Check and positive supervisor reference checks.
- Full disclosure of any current or historical regulatory prohibition, suspension, or supervision notices.
- Mandatory Child Safety Training, to be completed during your induction with us.
Pay Rate: Above-Award Rates! Individual pay scales vary legally based on your age and whether you finished Year 10, 11, or 12
Our Commitment to Child Safety:
Little Treasures Marulan is fully committed to safeguarding children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and are dedicated to providing a child-safe, inclusive, and culturally safe environment. We recognise that the safety, rights, and best interests of children are the paramount consideration in all our choices and practices. All staff are legally required to uphold our Child Safe Code of Conduct and actively contribute to a culture of child safety.
