Amended Duties Based on the Restaurant Menu
Job Tasks include:
- Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s established menu, recipes and presentation standards.
- Preparing ingredients before service, including eggs, bread, avocado, salmon, seafood, meats, vegetables, cheeses, sauces, herbs, dressings, relishes and garnishes.
- Cooking a range of menu items, including all-day breakfast dishes, egg dishes, shakshuka, French toast, ricotta pancakes, corn fritters, burgers, chicken dishes, steak, salmon fillet, pasta, salads, sandwiches, children’s meals and side dishes.
- Checking the quality, freshness and suitability of ingredients before use, including seafood, chicken, beef, pork, eggs, dairy products and fresh produce.
- Portioning, seasoning, cooking and plating dishes consistently to meet the restaurant’s menu standards and customer expectations.
- Assisting with basic preparation of sauces, dressings, salads, roasted vegetables, toasted sourdough, grilled meats, seafood and other menu components.
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, fryers, stovetops and food preparation equipment.
- Coordinating with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff during service to ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas, cooking stations, storage areas and kitchen equipment.
- Following food safety procedures, including safe food handling, temperature control, prevention of cross-contamination and correct storage of perishable ingredients.
- Assisting with receiving, storing, freezing and preserving food supplies and prepared ingredients in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Reporting low stock levels, ingredient quality issues or kitchen equipment concerns to the chef, manager or supervisor.
- Assisting senior kitchen staff with daily kitchen operations, including preparation tasks, service readiness and cleaning duties.
Qualifications and Working Experience Required: Certificate in Kitchen Management and one year of relevant working experience.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
