As the Consultant Industrial Relations, 12 month fixed term opportunity, you will be part of the People & Culture team, that’s doubling down on customer obsession.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Provide advice and ensure compliance with our Industrial Relations framework (including NAB’s Enterprise Agreement) and NAB’s legislative obligations to support the delivery of NAB's Strategic Ambition, through fostering trust and respect with our colleagues, customers and community.
- Ensure NAB’s Industrial Relations frameworks, policies and practices are compliant and aligned to the needs of our colleagues.
- Conduct regular benchmarking analysis of the framework to ensure it is cost effective and competitive and make recommendations for enhancements as required.
- Support colleagues in building their understanding and application of Industrial Relations frameworks and assess effectiveness.
- Support the management of obligations and controls within NAB’s risk management processes; and provide advice and support the development of Industrial Relations guidelines and policies.
- Provide support as required to the Senior Manager Industrial Relations and the Senior Consultants Industrial Relations.
- Proactively monitor regulatory, industry trends and best practices.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar Industrial Relations Consultant role and/or Human Resources role with a working knowledge of the Industrial Relations system and legislation.
- Proven experience and understanding of Enterprise Agreements and their application in a complex business.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the pay system environment (Human Resources Information Systems, payroll systems, award interpretation and time & attendance systems) and relevant legislative requirements.
- Experience in providing advice and guidance in relation to Industrial Relations matters to support the development of leaders and colleagues' knowledge of IR strategy, policies and practices.
- Ability to manage the expectations of key stakeholders by providing regular updates on relevant risks, outcomes, decision and objectives.
- Ability to participate in Industrial Relations negotiation process by applying knowledge of legislation, industrial awards and agreements.
- Sound influencing and negotiation skills coupled with superior written and verbal communication skills.
