The Technical Account Manager is a key role that builds strong relationships with clients, helps them get the most value from our digital solutions, identifies new GIS consulting opportunities, and works closely with both customers and the team to support and grow the existing client base. Working as an integral part of our Information, Technology & Development (ITD) team, this role plays a critical part in advancing our Client Value Proposition through client engagement, account management, and the growth of our existing client base. As with each role at MNG, the Technical Account Manager is key to maintaining our fantastic workplace culture and strong MNG brand through positive interactions with colleagues, clients and stakeholders alike.
Technical Capabilities
- Align business objectives with GIS and digital technology solutions to deliver customer value.
- Apply strong knowledge of GIS platforms, spatial data management, and geospatial workflows.
- Analyse client requirements and develop practical, fit-for-purpose technical and consulting solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and develop GIS consulting opportunities within the existing client base.
- Prepare and contribute to tender submissions, proposals, scopes of work, and solution documentation.
- Deliver product demonstrations, workshops, and technical presentations across MNG's Digital Services suite.
- Apply knowledge of enterprise systems, cloud platforms, system integrations, and data interoperability principles.
- Provide proactive technical guidance to support customer adoption, success, and long-term value realisation.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with consultants, developers, project managers, and subject matter experts to develop and deliver client solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager to identify opportunities, develop client engagement strategies, support contract renewals & client retention initiatives, prepare proposals, and convert GIS and digital services opportunities into successful outcomes.
- Develop and maintain client engagement/account plans to improve client experience, including account reviews, check-in's, identification of risks, including monthly reporting to the business on accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact and trusted representative of the business for assigned accounts, building strong stakeholder relationships and coordinating a consistent and responsive client experience.
- Manage technical account activities, including opportunity pipelines, solution reviews, and customer success initiatives.
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovation opportunities to support client and business growth.
Selection Criteria:
1. Previous experience within a similar role, or related industry.
2. Relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3. Minimum of five (5) years technical proficiency and experience.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, ability to manage, organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
5. Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to create effective working relationships and contribute to the team in a proactive and positive manner.
6. Current Australian Driver's License.
