Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) are seeking an experienced and motivated Delivery Manager to lead our Enterprise Data Governance team.

- Salary range: $143,076 - $166,922 plus superannuation
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role
This role leads the coordination and oversite of an enterprise data governance function within the Outcomes and Evidence unit. It supports the organisation to meet its data management obligations by developing standards, providing advice and assurance, and implementing enabling capabilities that promote consistent data quality, shared data definitions, ethical data use, informed data decision-making, and secure data sharing across Victoria Legal Aid's (VLA) decentralised governance model.
The Delivery Manager works collaboratively with stakeholders across data owners, IT, legal, and practice teams to embed practical, risk-based data management practices aligned to VLA's Data Management Policy.
The role manages a multidisciplinary team that delivers frameworks, guidance, and support services to promote reliable, consistent, accessible, and well-used data, enabling business areas to meet their responsibilities for data quality, security, and lifecycle management.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess

Demonstrated experience in enterprise data governance, with the ability to shape and enhance practices across data quality, risk and compliance, data sharing agreements, and decentralised governance models

Demonstrated experience designing and embedding practical data management frameworks, policies, standards, and assurance processes that support business needs and strategic objectives.

Strong collaboration skills, with experience working with stakeholders across the organisation to integrate effective and pragmatic data governance practices into business systems and decision-making processes.

Proven ability to support and empower Data Owners, and to maintain governance structures that enable consistent, reliable, and accessible data across a complex organisational environment.

Ability to stay informed about emerging government, industry, and ethical requirements relating to data governance and management.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, engaging policies, guidance materials, training resources, and reporting that meet the needs of technical and non-technical audiences.

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) qualification or equivalent professional certification in data governance or data management.

Demonstrated leadership capability, with a commitment to building and supporting a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement.
