About the Role
Exciting times are ahead at The Emerald Hotel! An iconic South Melbourne staple, we are renowned for our vibrant atmosphere, top-tier pub dining, and deeply loyal local regulars.
We are seeking experienced, customer-focused Bar & Food Service Professionals to join our front-of-house team.
If you are a seasoned hospitality worker who takes pride in warm, effortless guest service, thrives in a fast-moving bistro and bar setting, and is looking for a reliable venue with consistent weekly shifts, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Elevated Guest Service: Deliver warm, attentive, and efficient table and bar service across our bistro and main bar, building genuine rapport with our regular patrons.
- Seamless Operations: Keep service areas, dining rooms, and the bar immaculately presented, organized, and fully prepped for busy services.
- Order & POS Management: Accurately enter orders, manage table checks, and process cash and EFTPOS transactions smoothly.
- Functions & Events: Assist with the seamless setup and execution of private functions and group bookings as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Hospitality Experience: Demonstrated experience in food and beverage service within a quality pub, bistro, or high-volume restaurant.
- A Passion for Hospitality: Someone who genuinely enjoys looking after people, remembers a familiar face, and brings positive energy to every shift.
- Reliability & Availability: Excellent punctuality and consistent weekly availability. Availability for Wednesday evenings is required, alongside flexibility for weekends.
- Core Hospitality Skills: Fast and efficient tray service, comfortable operating draft taps, and a sharp eye for floor flow.
- Certifications: Valid Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate is mandatory.
