Role Summary
The role is responsible for administering, configuring, securing, and operating multiple middleware platforms, including Kong, to ensure critical business processes meet defined service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
· Review high level integration solution designs and provide technical leadership to project teams, ensuring approved integration patterns and architectures are consistently applied throughout detailed design and implementation.
· Proactively identify, assess, and escalate technical and delivery risks, and define alternative technical or functional approaches where required, following established governance and approval processes.
· Define, govern, and approve API standards, frameworks, and processes, shaping the API strategy to align with broader corporate and technology strategy.
· Represent the team in gas and electricity industry forums, gathering feedback and ensuring external participants can effectively connect to and interoperate with Business‑to‑Business systems in accordance with interface specifications and architectural standards.
· Design and maintain dashboards and reports to track key operational metrics and business SLAs using enterprise application monitoring and observability tools.
· Identify repetitive operational and administrative tasks and develop a roadmap to automate processes, improving platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
· Partner with enterprise and solution architecture teams to define and evolve integration standards, patterns, and best practices that meet current and future business needs.
· Support project teams in scaling and onboarding new integration environments, providing hands‑on assistance with setup, troubleshooting, and resolution of configuration issues to meet project timelines.
· This role plays a key part in managing and maintaining core middleware platforms, ensuring robust, resilient, and high-performing integration services that support business-critical operations
· Actively collaborate with the team, contributing to a high-performing, supportive, and accountable team culture
· Work closely with architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure alignment on integration standards and platform stability
· Participate in daily stand-ups and team forums, sharing progress, risks, and technical insight
