We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Improvement Specialist. Join our Risk and Assurance team and play a key role in supporting the development of a modern, scalable Quality ecosystem across the business unit by combining quality compliance, continuous improvement, and hands-on automation capability. Reporting to Quality Improvement Lead, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Driving practical process improvements across the business, aligned to the Risk and Assurance Strategy and The Downer Standard.
- Transforming manual data collection, reporting, and tracking activities into automated, insight-driven solutions.
- Leveraging tools such as Artificial Intelligence, Power BI, Power Platform, and RPA to enhance performance visibility and operational efficiency.
Supporting the Business Unit in strengthening assurance, compliance, and decision-making through data, automation, and continuous improvement practices.

What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Bachelors in Quality, Business, Risk Management, Finance, Law, Commerce, or a related field) are required, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in Quality, Continuous Improvement, Operations, or Business Improvement field, with proven track record in process improvement and performance uplift.
- Hands-on experience with implementing technology enabled solutions, including building and use of: Artificial Intelligence, Power BI dashboards; Automated reporting solutions; Workflow or RPA-based improvements.
- Experience working with complex, manual data environments and improving them.
Experience engaging with operational stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate requirements into practical technology-enabled improvements.
