About the Role
The Hotel/Motel Manager is responsible for organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating the overall operations of Twin Swans Motel to ensure the efficient delivery of accommodation and guest services. The position oversees front office operations, reservations, housekeeping, property maintenance, customer service, staff supervision, financial administration, and compliance activities to maintain high service standards and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, guest check-in, check-out, and accommodation service activities
- Coordinating and supervising housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and motel facilities are maintained to a high standard
- Supervising property maintenance, security arrangements, and presentation of motel grounds and common areas
- Assessing, monitoring, and reviewing customer satisfaction levels and responding to guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints
- Planning, organising, and controlling daily motel operations to ensure efficient service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Managing room occupancy levels, accommodation bookings, and revenue performance to maximise business outcomes
- Overseeing accounting, purchasing, stock control, and administrative activities associated with motel operations
- Preparing operational reports, monitoring budgets, controlling expenditure, and assisting with financial management activities
- Recruiting, supervising, training, rostering, and managing motel staff to ensure effective workforce performance
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, accommodation industry standards, and relevant legislative obligations
- Monitoring compliance with applicable hospitality, liquor, workplace, and consumer regulations where relevant
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors, service providers, and external stakeholders to support motel operations
- Providing guests with local tourism information and assisting with arrangements for tours, transport, and regional attractions where required
- Implementing operational procedures and service standards to enhance guest experience and maintain business reputation
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, occupancy performance, customer satisfaction, and overall business profitability
Requirements
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2); or
- At least three years of relevant management experience may substitute for the formal qualification
- Demonstrated experience in accommodation, hospitality, hotel, motel, or tourism operations
- Strong leadership, customer service, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of accommodation management systems, budgeting, staff supervision, and guest service operations
- Preference will be given to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
