Primary objective
Provide administrative and support services to LDC including reception and administrative services. The Administration
Assistant is the first point of contact for enquiries.
Context statement
The Land Development Corporation is a Government Business Division. LDC is responsible for delivering strategic land
throughout the Northern Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Be the first point of contact for enquiries from internal and external stakeholders for LDC.
2. Provide reception and corporate support (including correspondence and diary management), maintaining information
technology, fleet vehicles, records management and financial systems and travel arrangements.
3. Provide procurement services including purchasing sundry items, liaising with suppliers, certifying and organising invoice
payments, processing credit card transactions and petty cash.
4. Provide corporate support to LDC staff including maintaining information technology, communications requirements,
fleet vehicles, and records management systems.
5. Provide administrative support and coordination activities for LDC’s commercial and development activities.
6. Support procurement activities including purchasing sundry items, liaising with suppliers, certifying and organising invoice
payments, processing credit card transactions and petty cash.
7. Assist with the preparation of briefings, reports, and general correspondence in a timely matter.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing effective reception and administrative support in previous roles with the ability
to prioritise effectively and work independently and flexibly.
2. Sound written and oral communication skills to operative effectively and with confidential and sensitive information.
3. High level of organisational and project skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently effectively within
a team, to achieve high level results within required timeframes and expectations.
4. Demonstrated experience in using various software packages including word processing, spreadsheet, email and records
management or the ability to acquire the knowledge in a short period.
5. Relevant personal attributes including demonstrated drive and enthusiasm, strong attention to detail and accuracy well
as maintaining an astute and sensitive approach to working in a complex business environment.
6. A current ‘C’ class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and experience using NT Government systems such as TRM, NTG Pay, Expense 8, TRIPS and VBS.
