ABOUT US
Benara Nurseries is one of Australia’s largest wholesale production nurseries, located on a 147-hectare site in Western Australia. Established in 1963, we are a family-owned company, now with four generations actively involved in the nursery. Combined, the owners have over 300 years of experience in producing plants for the horticultural industry.
We supply premium-quality plants to landscapers, retailers, developers, and local government. Our success is built on strong values, dedicated people, and our commitment to excellence in plant production.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

Administer and support networks, servers, workstations, mobile devices, software, and database applications.
- Assess, recommend, and implement improvements across network operations, integrated hardware, software, communications, and telephone/mobile systems.
- Conduct ongoing infrastructure reviews to ensure optimal network performance and reliability
- Maintain and manage multiple backup systems to safeguard business data.
- Provide timely technical support to users to minimise operational disruption.
- Install, configure, and maintain connections to all organisational data sources.
- Monitor systems for threats and remove malware as required.
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets across the organisation.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar IT support or infrastructure role.
- Strong experience supporting and maintaining:
o Windows Server environments
o SQL Server
o Windows 10/11
o Hyper V and/or server Virtualisation technologies, ESXi and XCP-ng
o LAMPP/WAMPP stack installation and administration
o Microsoft 365 Desktop Apps
o Linux Server
o Mechanical engineering skills
o PLC software and hardware experience

Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to research and evaluate new technologies and initiatives relevant to business operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
Desirable:
-
Experience in an IT Manager, Systems Administrator, or Senior IT Support role within a manufacturing, horticulture, or operational business environment.
- Coding Experience.
