About the role
We are seeking an experienced engineer to join us in the role of Specialist – Asset Performance (Water Networks Senior Engineer), supporting investigations, monitoring, and reporting related to water supply scheme performance.
This role suits someone with a strong water industry-based engineering foundation and a passion for using data and investigations to understand system behaviour. You will contribute to developing a deeper understanding of asset and network performance through analysis, collaboration, and technical reporting.
Based in Leederville and reporting to the Team Leader – Scheme Performance, you will be one of the technical leads in a team that works closely with operations, planning, and asset teams to support reporting, risk management, and investment decision‑making.

What you can expect with this role

Undertake investigations, monitoring, and data analysis to identify root causes of system performance, reliability, and risk issues across water schemes

Extract, cleanse, and analyse data from operational systems including SCADA, telemetry, asset, production, and demand datasets

Apply engineering principles to understand system performance from source to supply

Translate complex data into clear, practical insights, reports, and recommendations for technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Collaborate with operations, planning, and asset teams to support investigations and improvement actions

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve scheme performance
What We’re Looking For
Essential
-
An engineering background (civil, environmental, mechanical, chemical, or similar)
-
Experience undertaking the planning, design, operation, or optimisation of systems and processes
-
Strong data extraction, manipulation, and analysis skills

Proven ability to investigate and solve complex system issues using data
-
Ability to interpret operational data and relate it to real‑world water supply systems
-
A structured, logical, and investigative engineering mindset with strong attention to detail
Desirable

Experience in water supply, water treatment, or utility operations

Exposure to SCADA and telemetry data analysis

Understanding of water scheme hydraulics, treatment processes, or network operations
-
Experience presenting technical findings to non‑technical audiences
