POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Machinist (First Class) to join our Mackay team. This is a full-time position within a fast-paced workshop environment, working on machining, fitting, assembly, maintenance and repairs of metal components and equipment.
Key Duties
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Set up and operate machining equipment including lathes, mills, drills and grinders
- Machine and fit metal components to fine tolerances
- Assemble and repair machinery and equipment
- Conduct fault finding, maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Maintain strong safety and housekeeping standards
About You
- Trade qualified Metal Machinist / Fitter Machinist
- Previous experience in manufacturing, steel or heavy industry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Forklift Licence highly regarded
