Job Description
Join our dedicated clinical team at Northern Private Hospital as a Casual Registered Nurse working across general medicine and surgical services. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care while working collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurses and Shift Leaders.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating care to patients throughout their hospital journey, ensuring a high standard of clinical practice, patient safety and quality outcomes. This is an opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team while continuing to develop your clinical skills and experience across general medicine and surgical nursing.
About You
You are a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse seeking the flexibility of casual employment, with recent acute care or surgical experience and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You have confident communication and interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to work effectively within a busy hospital environment.
You enjoy working collaboratively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and professional practice. You are adaptable, reliable and comfortable working across a range of clinical needs as part of a casual nursing team.
Key Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care.

Deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care to general medical and surgical patients.

Monitor patients' clinical conditions and respond appropriately to changes in their health status.

Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.

Work collaboratively with Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurses, Shift Leaders and the multidisciplinary team.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Provide education, support and information to patients and their families.

Promote patient safety, infection prevention and quality improvement.

Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Maintain professional standards and participate in ongoing education and professional development.
You Will Also Bring

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.

Medication endorsement with IV competency.

Recent acute care or surgical ward experience.

Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
