Overview of the Role:
This is a great opportunity to be part of a successful and support and contribute to Clean Energy Infrastructure transactions with financial modelling skills. The role is a Contingent Worker for 6 months.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation/maintenance/updating of detailed and complex financial models (including macros) for internal and external purposes. This may include updating vendor financial models
- Responsible for the financial analysis and communication of key movements and value drivers of the financial model and ensure all inputs are properly sourced and are reasonable and are updated.
- Financial models outputs include equity post tax IRR (hold to maturity and full cycle IRR), equity valuations, gearing etc including running typical Nuveen financial sensitivities such as revenues, costs, capex etc
- Provide the financial analysis support for project selldown purposes including running scenario for potential co-investors
- Support information requests from HQ
- Support with the coordination (including liaising with advisors) and review of due diligence materials:
- Technical due diligence
- Legal due diligence
- Financial /Tax due diligence
- Insurance reviews
- Model audit
- ESG
- KYC
- Manage data rooms (including Q&A) and transaction workstreams.
- Review and comment on key project/transactions documents including EPC contracts, O&M agreements, Connection agreements, PPAs and offtake agreements, Shareholders agreements, Financing documents and sale and purchase agreement.
- Assist with the satisfaction of conditions precedents for financing and transaction documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of marketing materials for selling down of projects to co-investors. This includes the preparation of an information memorandum, teaser information, project update slides and other similar materials.
- Support the preparation of Investment Committees papers including the financial analysis and sensitivity section.
- After acquisition, provide support as required to existing investments including liaising with external and internal stakeholders, supporting asset optimisation initiatives and divestment.
- The CW is expected to work mainly on Australian projects but may be asked to provide support for South Korean and Japanese projects from time to time.
- Other work as reasonably requested from time to time
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Sound and solid financial toolkit (building detailed financial models (including macros), analysing financial statements, performing valuations, development/construction). Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo a financial modelling case study.
- Prior Australia renewable energy transaction execution (gained at M&A advisory firm, bank, private equity fund, infrastructure fund, renewable energy developer or utility), with exposure to equity investment in BESS and/or Solar+BESS assets and wind is required
- At least 4 years of relevant (including financial modelling) working experience in Australia.
