About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Technician to join our Events team, on a casual basis. As the lead technical officer on duty, you will deliver the technical operation of College events and productions, ensuring our performing arts venues operate safely, efficiently and to a professional standard. This is an exciting casual opportunity for an experienced theatre or production technician who enjoys a hands-on role in a dynamic events environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of events, productions and performances across College venues.
- Configure and operate professional lighting, audio, vision and staging systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-the-spot solutions during events.
- Coordinate venue set-up, changeovers and restoration to maintain operational readiness.
- Provide technical support, guidance and venue inductions for performers, hirers and production teams.
- Maintain safe work practices and contribute to equipment maintenance, reporting and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- A relevant tertiary degree qualification in Theatre, Production, Creative Industries or a related discipline, and/or extensive relevant industry experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of theatre production, lighting, audio, audiovisual and staging systems.
- Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of live event delivery, venue operations and technical production environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
