About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role
Bring your experience in volunteer or people management to a large-scale, award winning volunteer program! The Volunteer Engagement Lead is responsible for development and implementation of the ASRC volunteer strategy in our program of over 500 volunteers across 12 programs. As a Volunteer Engagement Lead you will:
- Implement our volunteer engagement strategy and related initiatives to strengthen volunteering at ASRC.
- Review our program and identify improvements to process, policy, opportunities and technology to enhance the volunteer experience.
- Manage volunteer events and recognition programs to ensure volunteers feel valued for their contribution to ASRC.
- Manage the volunteer recruitment process ensuring positive experience for volunteers, ensuring diverse and equitable recruitment outcomes.
- Build organisational capability in volunteering through learning opportunities, communities of practice, and the development of tools and knowledge resources and ad hoc advice to stakeholders.
About You
You are a people connector! You love working with people, and know how to engage and draw the best out of our volunteer workforce, ensuring they feel engaged in our organisational purpose and their role. Along with previous experience in a similar role or a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or similar, you will also have:
- Experience in managing programs including implementing strategies, reviewing and improving processes and programs.
- Experience using technology to manage large volumes of administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication including public speaking, writing program proposals, running training sessions and writing policies and processes.
- Ability to build strong relationships with a broad range of people including volunteers and stakeholders.
- Experience and enthusiasm for organising and managing events.
- Demonstrated HRIS or CRM experience, preferably in Salesforce, Cloud 4J and Form Assembly.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work onsite to build relationships with volunteers across all of our programs.
- Willingness to travel to Dandenong on a regular basis.
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable as is knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia.
