Supamart is a proudly family-owned supermarket known for offering high-quality produce, fresh meals/sushi, and exceptional service across our Sydney locations. We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our production kitchen team, helping to prepare fresh meals and sushi for our stores.
The Role
We are looking for a Cook to support our production kitchen. These roles require attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently, and a passion for delivering high-quality food.
Key Responsibilities
Cook Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Cooking – Prepare and cook meals and sushi to a high standard, ensuring consistency in portion size and flavour.
- Portioning & Packaging – Accurately portion and package meals and sushi for distribution to stores.
- Cooking Equipment Management – Monitor and regulate cooking appliances to ensure food is cooked safely and correctly.
- Food Handling & Storage – Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly to maintain freshness and comply with food safety regulations.
- Menu Planning & Estimation – Assist in planning production schedules, estimating ingredient needs, and preparing quantities to meet store demands.
- Assisting with Quality Control – Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portioning.
- Team Support – Work closely with the Chef and production team to ensure efficient meal production.
- Training & Guidance – Support and guide junior staff, assisting in training and maintaining high standards of food preparation and safety.
About You
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, portioning, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Understanding of OH&S and food safety regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Requires formal qualification and at least 12 months of relevant work experience.
