Your New Role
The Enrolled Nurse Mental Health Transition Program is designed for newly qualified Enrolled Nurses, or experienced Enrolled Nurses looking to specialise in mental health nursing. The program provides a structured combination of clinical placements, study days and professional development opportunities to support your transition into a rewarding career in public mental health.
Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses within multidisciplinary teams, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health care
- Participate in consumer assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
- Develop specialist mental health nursing skills across a range of clinical settings
- Complete dedicated study days and clinical learning activities
- Build confidence working within recovery-oriented and trauma-informed models of care
- Contribute to positive outcomes for consumers, families, carers and communities.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and motivated Enrolled Nurse seeking to build a career in mental health nursing. You bring a commitment to learning, collaboration and delivering excellent consumer care.
You will have:
- Registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- A Diploma of Nursing (or equivalent), including medication endorsement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centred care
- High reliability, professionalism and willingness to learn
- A current Working with Children Check and ability to meet employment screening requirements.
Previous experience in acute, sub-acute or aged care nursing is desirable but not essential.
