About the Role
As the Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead major capital projects that support the renewal of critical mill assets and infrastructure. Working closely with site teams and contractors, you’ll deliver upgrades and innovative engineering solutions that improve reliability, performance and operational outcomes.
This hands-on role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects while providing opportunities for career growth into Engineering Superintendent, Project Manager or Engineering Manager roles. You'll join a supportive team that values innovation, collaboration and continuous development.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of major capital and engineering projects, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective outcomes.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance and contractors to modernise and enhance critical mill assets.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, contractors and risk to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen reliability, efficiency and sustainability.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing safety culture.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings:
Essential
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale capital and engineering projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management skills, including budget control, contractor management and risk mitigation.
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance and external partners.
- A proactive, safety-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement and innovative engineering solutions.
Desirable
- 3-5yrs experience in project engineering role.
- Experience in the sugar, food processing, mining, manufacturing or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of asset management, reliability improvement and plant optimisation principles.
- Project Management qualifications or experience managing multi-disciplinary capital projects from concept through to commissioning.
