About the role
The Hairdresser is responsible for delivering Cole Hair Studio’s premium full-service
hairdressing experience, working directly with clients across consultation, precision cutting,
styling, colour and hair extension services. The role requires strong technical capability,
attention to current hair and fashion trends, and consistently high standards of client care,
presentation and salon hygiene.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Consult with clients before each service to understand the look they want, assess their hair
type, condition, facial features and lifestyle, and provide professional advice on suitable hair
care, salon products and hairstyles.
Prepare clients for cutting, colouring and styling services by shampooing hair with products
suited to the client’s needs, applying treatments and conditioning scalps and hair where
required before completing the booked service.
Deliver Cole Hair Studio’s range of colouring services, including foils, tints, balayage and
colour treatments, selecting and preparing formulas appropriate to the client’s existing
colour and desired result. Undertake straightening and other texture services using
appropriate chemical solutions and professional application techniques.
Perform precision cutting for women and men, using scissors, clippers and other
professional cutting tools to create shapes, layers and finishes suited to the client’s hair
texture, face shape and requested style.
Provide specialist styling and hair extensions services, including blow dries, upstyling and the
application, blending and finishing of weave-in, tape and keratin-bond extensions.
Incorporate braids and other styling techniques where required to support the selected
extension method or finished look.
Complete each client’s service with professional drying, finishing and styling techniques,
selecting appropriate salon products and tools to achieve the required texture, movement,
hold and overall finish.
Maintain Cole Hair Studio’s presentation and hygiene standards throughout the working day
by cleaning work areas between clients, sanitising instruments and tools, preparing stations
for the next appointment and ensuring equipment is stored and maintained correctly.
Support the client journey from appointment through to completion by assisting with
arranging appointments and rebookings, updating relevant client service information and
collecting payments for salon services and retail products when required.
Skills required:
Certificate III / IV in hairdressing + 1 year of relevant work experience OR at least 3 years of
relevant work experience
Strong customer service and client relationship skills
Excellent verbal communication and consultation skills
Strong attention to detail and presentation standards
Effective time management and appointment coordination
Teamwork and ability to work collaboratively in a busy salon environment
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
