Your day as a Policy Officer
Your typical day-to-day work will include coordinating and undertaking policy development, providing analysis and advice, to support Agency and/or Government policy initiatives and commitments.
Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated experience undertaking policy research and analysis to inform evidence-based decision making
- Strong ability to develop high-quality briefs, submissions and policy advice aligned to government priorities
- Proven experience managing projects and supporting delivery of policy initiatives within tight timeframes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships and coordinate consultations and working groups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including identifying emerging or complex issues and recommending practical solutions
- Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for ongoing employment at NSW Treasury, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
