ABOUT MFLC LOGISTICS
MFLC Logistics moves chilled, frozen and dry freight for food manufacturers and FMCG clients across Victoria and New South Wales. Our Melbourne to Sydney chilled lane runs consistently, and we are looking to add reliable owner drivers to our subcontractor panel for regular linehaul work with backloads.
THE WORK
Regular interstate linehaul between Melbourne and Sydney, with pickups and drops at manufacturer sites, cold stores and distribution centres. Trailer supplied by MFLC / driver to supply trailer] Consistent, planned work with loaded returns wherever possible - we do not expect you to run empty.
Typical schedule: 2x trips per week, Sunday to Friday
Configuration: Single Trailer
Rate: Rates negotiable based on configuration and backload availability. + Fuel levy
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Interstate linehaul runs on the Hume corridor and connecting lanes
- Coupling, uncoupling and load restraint in line with the Load Restraint Guide
- Monitoring reefer set points and recording temperatures through the trip
- Dealing with consignors and receivers professionally at pickup and delivery
- Managing your work diary, fatigue compliance and rest breaks under HVNL
- Reporting delays, breakdowns and delivery exceptions promptly
- Maintaining your vehicle to a roadworthy, presentable standard
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- MC licence (or HC depending on configuration) with a clean record and demonstrable interstate linehaul experience
- Your own prime mover, well maintained and roadworthy
- Registered business: ABN, GST registration, and your own tax and BAS arrangements
- Goods in Transit insurance
- Public Liability insurance to $20 million
- Motor vehicle insurance covering commercial use, plus personal accident or income protection cover
- Current work diary (written or EWD) and a sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management
- Contactable, and able to provide accurate ETAs
NICE TO HAVE
- NHVAS accreditation (Mass, Maintenance or Basic Fatigue Management)
- Your own reefer trailer and temperature-controlled freight experience
- B-double experience and relevant permits
- Food safety awareness or prior work into supermarket distribution centres

This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. Applicants based in Victoria will be provided with the required owner driver information booklet and rates schedule prior to engagement.
Pay: $51.62 – $88.79 per hour
