What You’ll Do
Joining us as a Hospital Pharmacist is a career move that’s not just a step forward - it’s a leap into a more professional, specialised, and impactful future, where your decisions will have a direct impact on the treatment outcomes of patients.
At Slade Pharmacy Box Hill, you’ll work closely with clinicians, nurses, and technicians, manage specialised medications, and contribute meaningfully across the patient journey — from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
- Dispensing and supplying medication and pharmacy products
- Coordinating patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
- Supporting patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
- Educating and advising staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the quality use of medicines
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a Pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment and brings a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a patient-centred mindset. In this specialised setting, high-pressure situations are not uncommon, so strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential.
You don’t need prior hospital experience to qualify for this role, as full training and mentorship will be provided by the experienced Box Hill team. Early career Pharmacists looking for their first role in hospital pharmacy are welcome to apply.
Essential requirements:
- General registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions on practice.
- Minimum 1-year Australian Pharmacist experience.
- Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-month from start of employment.
- Personal Indemnity insurance.
Desirable skills & experience:
- Background in hospital pharmacy.
