Primary objective
Implementation of allied health service and workforce strategies across all NT Health regions as identified from service and
workforce planning projects and other allied health workforce initiatives.
Context statement
The Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer (OCAHO) provides strategic leadership of allied health clinical governance systems
that underpin the delivery of quality patient care across the NT. This position will undertake identified priority projects within the
OCAHO pillars of workforce development and support, strategy and planning, clinical governance and leadership, and clinical
education and research that align with the One Allied Health Plan 2024-2028.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement action plans in response to recommendations of service delivery and
workforce planning projects.
2. Engage with the allied health workforce to develop and implement action plans.
3. Provide regular progress updates to key governance committees.
4. Participate in Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer activities as required.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary team leadership practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance
with NT Health values.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in allied health profession that meets membership eligibility requirements of the relevant association,
and registration for practice with the relevant Health Profession Board of Australia as applicable.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues, principles, and practice regarding allied health service
delivery at a local and national level.
3. Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
4. High level of initiative and flexibility in adapting to change in daily planning, as well as in the strategic and operational
environment, in order to meet the complex nature of the work undertaken.
5. Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
6. High level interpersonal, negotiation and cross-cultural skills including the ability to develop productive working relationships
with health professionals from a range of professional backgrounds.
7. High level oral and written communication skills including well developed presentation skills and expertise in the preparation
of reports and briefings of a substantial and complex nature.
Desirable
1. Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, and/or public health.
